The Thor™ Hammer Sizing Pack is designed for you to size your bore diameter before you place your bullet order. This ensures the truest fit and best accuracy.
The Thor™ Bullets are high performance, full-bore muzzleloading bullets. The .50 caliber ballistic tip bullets feature a 100% copper construction and are manufactured by Barnes™ using their X Bullet® platform along with their proven expansion technology. The Thor™ Bullet is proven to be extremely accurate at long ranges, while providing lethal expansion on deer and elk-sized game.
The Thor™ Bullet's hollow base expands when the powder goes off, both gripping the rifling and sealing the bore. These bullets actually shoot 75-100 FPS faster than a Powerbelt, due to their superb sealing power. If it is a quality conical you are looking for, that won’t fragment into a million pieces, the Thor™ Bullet is the way to go.
**** Before purchasing your first pack of Thor™ Bullets, you will first need to order a test sizing pack of 4 bullets of diameters of .500”, .501”. .502” and .503” that allows you to correctly size your bore. It is important that you start with the smallest diameter Thor™ Bullet, and work your way up in diameter size until you find the proper fitting Thor™ Bullet for your muzzleloader. While manufacturers have similar bore diameters, they will vary .001”-.002" from gun to gun, so it is extremely important to correctly size your bore to determine which diameter works best for you. In the event that the .500 is too tight for your bore, then the .499 bullet will work perfect! Keep in mind that the .499 bullets are only available here on Thorbullets.com via custom order.
To determine which bullet is best for your muzzleloader, start with an empty rifle, remove the breechplug and slide in the .500 bullet. If it slips easily down the bore, you then try the .501 and so on. When you find the diameter that requires about 20/30 ft./lbs. of force to push down the barrel (that is comparable to the resistance you get loading a standard sabot bullet), you have found the correct size for your rifle.

Engineered to be Better!
Thor bullets are the industry leader in terminal performance and weight retention. Our bullets feature a true copper gas seal to ensure a precision fit to your barrel.
First off i jumped the gun and just baught a pack of .499. Then I realized that you had a sizing pack after I saw they was too small. I sure wished I would have ordered the sizing pack first. Anyone who is thinking of getting the thor bullets needs to get the sizing pack first. Will save you money in the long run. I will be ordering the right size for my gun before next hunting season. Thanks
I started using solid copper bullets about four years ago.In my center fire rifles, I was so stoked. When I found them from my muzzle loader.
I had an opportunity last year in my muzzleloader elk hunt to get a shot at a nice five point bull, i caught him in his bed, but by the time I got out of the truck. He had stood up and stepped into the timber after a short stalk.I was sixty yards from him with a nice clean broadside, shot. I set the trigger and took aim touched it off and it went click. The cap had fallen off and no I had taken this bare caps out of my stock cap box.
When I got home, I unloaded that bullet, a one hundred ninety seven grain Thor into five kitty, litter jugs filled with water. It went completely through three and almost into the fourth there was a mark on the back of the third jug.The expansion was perfect. All of the pedals were exactly the same and it was beautiful.I can only imagine what it would have done to that.ElkI'm sure I wouldn't have had to track him.
I wish you made the same bullet for my fifty four caliber. As is the only copper bullet legal in oregon to hunt with.
These bullets shoot an awesome group.
And I love the way the base expands out into the grooves and seals off the gas, they push noticeably harder than a.Solid lead bullet because of that seal, and i'm sure they're going faster. Keep up the good work you're helping make humane kills a real thing.
Relatively inexpensive way to learn that my new CVA Accura barrel is .505. Too large for the .500 bullet yet too small for the .501. Thor rep was good explaining that occasionally the barrels are between Thor bullet size options.
sizing pack was
Mine was .500 cva v2
Was able to order some that size and they
Work well
Still working on getting a good pattern
Shooting 245 gr now
Going to move up to 300gr

I received my test kit very quick and they were easy to use.
